The Global Surgery Foundation (GSF) is pleased to highlight and recommend the

West African College of Surgeons (WACS) National Surgical, Obstetric and Anesthesia Planning (NSOAP) Workshop

Thursday, 17 December 2020 (11:00 – 13:00 EST)

Workshop Objectives

To address identified challenges and gaps related to the points of entry for the NSOAP. This workshop will provide an opportunity to share lessons learned among participants and get insightful information on advocacy and financing.

Invited Speakers

  • Prof. Emmanuel Makasa: Advocacy

    Expert- Health & Wellness, Cabinet Office of the Government of the Republic of Zambia, Republic of Zambia’s Health representative to the United Nations

  • Dr. Tim Evans: Securing the systems functions to support NSOAPs

    After more than 20 years in global health leadership positions at the Rockefeller Foundation, WHO, BRAC and the World Bank, Dr. Evans joined McGill University in September 2019, as the Inaugural Director and Associate Dean of the School of Population and Global Health (SPGH) in the Faculty of Medicine and Associate Vice-Principal (Global Policy and Innovation)
