“Breast cancer is now the most common cancer around the world”

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Benjamin Anderson, WHO Medical Officer leading the Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI), joined France 24 to share insight into breast cancer awareness, prevention, early diagnosis and detection, and effective treatment.

"Since 1990, there has been a 40% reduction in mortality in high-income settings. How do we translate this into limited resource environments?"

Dr. Anderson will speak at the upcoming GSF webinar on Breast Cancer - Improving outcomes and access to treatment for the most vulnerable on 19 October 2021. Registration is open and free.
