VBHC Webinar Improve Patient Care

Geneva, Switzerland - The Global Surgery Foundation (GSF), in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and Takeda, are hosting a special online learning event:

From Concept to Concrete: Implementing Value-Based Healthcare to Improve Care for the Patient

8 May 2024 at 15:00 CEST

About the event

The discussion aims to explore the practical implementation of value-based healthcare (VBHC) approaches to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.

VBHC represents a paradigm shift in healthcare delivery, focusing on optimizing outcomes and experiences for patients while controlling costs. It emphasizes shared decision-making, quality enhancement, and cost-effectiveness in healthcare delivery.

The VBHC Hub serves as a central resource hub for VBHC initiatives, with a particular focus on breast cancer surgical care as an entry point to implementation of value-based healthcare systems.

Value-based healthcare is about making the best use of available resources to achieve better outcomes and experiences for each patient.

This online event aims to provide a platform for stakeholders across various sectors, including government officials, healthcare workers, financing specialists, and industry representatives, to discuss and learn about VBHC implementation. Key objectives include:

  • Offering a venue for knowledge-sharing and discussion on VBHC

  • Demonstrating practical examples of VBHC implementation

  • Identifying best practices and lessons learned from VBHC case studies
