Dr. Kavitha Ranganathan

Kavitha Ranganathan, MD is an associate surgeon in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Ranganathan is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in general reconstructive and craniofacial surgery. She graduated from Northwestern University, where she also obtained her medical degree at the Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Michigan. During her training, she also completed a two-year research fellowship funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She subsequently completed her fellowship in craniofacial surgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Dr. Ranganathan’s clinical interests include craniofacial reconstruction, facial trauma care, secondary burn reconstruction, gender surgery and general plastic surgery. Her research focuses on increasing access to care in resource-limited environments and addressing the burden of catastrophic expenditures in low- and middle-income countries. At the Brigham, she will also be assuming the role of director of Craniofacial Reconstruction.
