Lawal-Aiyedun Olubunmi is a Nurse-Midwife, advocate, and leader with nearly three decades of service in policy, clinical practice, and community health. She is CEO of the MARCH Health Care Initiative, Immediate Past President of the National Association of Nigerian Paediatric Nurses, as well as an International Council of Nurses (ICN) Global Nursing Leadership Institute Scholar and Africa Co-Coordinator.

Olubunmi has advanced perioperative nursing globally serving on the Board of the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery (GICS), leading the Pan Africa Nurses for Emergency, Critical, and Operative Care (PAN-ECO Care), and chairing the G4 Alliance Nursing and Midwifery Working Group. She has also contributed to Nigeria’s NSOANP, WHO’s Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery (SDNM) 2021-2025, has promoted Midwife-led obstetric ultrasound in PHCs, and, in collaboration with Lifebox, co-developed training curriculum on Nursing Leadership for Surgical Excellence.

A recipient of the ICN Leadership Award, she continues to shape person-centred, gender-responsive health systems across Africa and beyond.
